Worry Dolls have been around for many years. The cute little doll with such a big job originated from Guatemala and the Mayan Culture long before my childhood.
We have taken the traditional doll clothed in traditional Mayan costumes and made them into a Gypsy Jane favorite.
According to the Mayan legend, when worrying keeps a child awake, he or she tells a worry to as many dolls as necessary. Then the little one places the faith-building worry dolls under their pillow. These little miracle maker dolls take over the child's concerns and stresses who sleep peacefully through the night. When morning breaks, they awake without the worries that the angel dolls took away during the night.
Over the years, this Folk Tale and ritual of helping children rid their worries, people from all over the world have adopted and adapted this to help their children sleep.
We have taken the traditional doll clothed in Mayan costumes and made them into a Gypsy Jane's favorite of all the children. We cant wait to share this with all your children. Our Worry dolls will be set up every Thursday, along with other meaningful arts and crafts. This unique table will always have an art project of meaning to it. This way, when your children make one for them, they will also make two for someone else.
We have always found another way to rid our selves with worries or sorrows, to help and serve others.
