We have opened up a later time, same dates for our Camp, "The Art of Doodle".
So many people keep calling, so we have decided to do another one in the afternoon. Usually, we would have our camps opened to a large number of children, but this camp is so special, we decided to keep it small at 14 kids.

From a young age finding your own creative drawing style is a process that can only be achieved through practice. When sketching becomes a constant habit, creativity unfolds naturally, opening up many possibilities to be used in daily art pieces.

I’m reminded of a Picasso quote, “All children are artists. The problem is how to remain one once we grow up.” Doodling is one way all people – artistically inclined or not – can remain visual thinkers. We should never forget the power of losing ourselves on a blank page. As Sue Shellenbarger of The Wall Street Journal says, “A blank page can serve as an extended playing field for the brain, allowing people to revise and improve on creative thoughts and ideas.”

Doodling is a powerful tool. One that can help our students process complex ideas. Maybe we should all be doing a bit more doodling.

Each child will be given their own sketchbook to keep. Keeping a sketchbook has played an important role in any artist's creative process throughout their lives. We will take several of their drawings and develop their ideas in several different forms of art throughout the week. We have painting, sculpting, printing, and weaving awaiting each of your little artists to take them on their creative journey of doodle.

We have limited this week's camp to fourteen students to help each one individually.

Please have your children bring a swimsuit and towel if they would like to swim for the last 1/2 hour. A water bottle and snack are good ideas as well. We also have been known to have all kinds of food here as well.
